September 2010 Black Hawk College Meat Goat Lab: Every year Burt and I put on a Meat Goat Lab at our local junior college, Black Hawk College. I have a wonderful Powerpoint presentation I've put together over the years and I really enjoy speaking to the animal science classes and the judging team. When the presentation is over, we bring a few classes to the students to judge, and we always bring several different ages' of males and females and get the kids up close and personal. It's been a great learning experience for us all!
2008, 2009, & 2010 Black Hawk College Invitational: In March each year, we have been invited to provide a class of yearling does for the Black Hawk College Invitational Livestock Judging Contest. Thanks to all the Black Hawk Judging Team members for choosing us to provide the yearling does for this annual competition. The competition features judging teams from 4-H, FFA, and colleges throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Missouri.
