Welcome to our website and we hope you enjoy your visit. Windy Hill Farm is located near Kewanee, Illinois.  The farm where we now live has been in the family since 1852.   In addition to crops, our family has raised livestock including both beef and dairy cattle and sheep.  Our family consists of Burt, Nanette and our son and even Grandma and Grandpa are an important part of our operation. We are the first generation to raise goats on the farm!  Our main focus is producing show quality percentage and fullblood Boer goats and superior show wethers for the Midwest show circuit. We are very proud of the herd we assembled and are very excited about our future. Photos and pedigrees of many of our current breeding stock are available on this website. We continually update our website so please check back often.

We dedicate a considerable amount of time to promoting the Boer Goat breed.  Burt is a past president of the board of directors for the Illinois Meat Goat Association and Nan has served on many American Boer Goat Association national committees including the 2010 ABGA National Show Committee and the 2011 ABGA Breed Standards Committee.  We are also founding sponsors of the Illinois Wether Series.   We are very active in showing throughout the Midwest and enjoy organizing seminars and hosting judging clinics at our local junior college, Black Hawk College of Galva, Illinois.  We are also superintendents of the Henry County Fair ABGA Sanctioned Boer Goat Show in Cambridge, Illinois, one of the largest sanctioned shows in Illinois.

Boer goats are a fantastic family project.  They bring us closer together through the hard work and fun times we have with them.  Please feel free to contact us if you are thinking about getting started in this fun and exciting livestock industry.  We enjoy helping youth with their goat projects, and always make time to mentor families with their learning experience.

Although correct structure, feed efficiency, and mothering ability are our main focus, we sure do love the flashy color that shows up sometimes unexpectedly.
